Periodical Printing
The main indicator to differentiate printing machines is paper. Machines designed to print on sheets of paper are called sheet-fed machines and machines that print on rolled paper (rolls of paper) are called web-fed presses. Large-format advertising publications (magazines, catalogs, brochures, customer leaflets and direct mail) and newspapers are produced on web-fed printing machines. Heatset printing technology is mainly used for printing magazines and catalogs, and Coldset technology is used to print newspapers.
There are 2 printing houses in Estonia specialising in the production of periodicals:
Kroonpress (Tartu) – Certified in: ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, FSC and PEFC certificates for monitoring wood supply chains, and licenses to use the Nordic Swan Label and EU EcoLabel. In addition, Kroonpress has developed and uses the Greenline Print carbon footprint label.
Printall (Tallinn) – Certified in: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSC and PEFC certificates for monitoring wood supply chains and Nordic Swan Label, Printall uses GREEN CHOICE 100% renewable energy. Printall is Climate Calc certified, allowing for the calculation of both the company’s overall carbon footprint and the carbon footprint of individual print jobs.
